The Cessna 172N

The Cessna 172 is a high wing (wing above the cabin) aircraft that is the worlds most popular aircraft. It is a 4 seat aircraft with plenty of room for baggage.

1. The version we use is equipped with a larger engine than original, a 180 hp installation.

2. That provides an increase in gross weight to 2550 lbs and a useful load of over 1,000 pounds, more than enough for four passengers and some baggage.

3. It cruises at 110 knots and has a range of over 500 miles with full fuel.

All our aircraft are clean and exceptionally well maintained.

Do you still offer the introductory lesson? What is the price tag on that these days?
Thanks, Terry

ChiefPilot says:

Yes we do. It’s called a “Discovery Flight” and we’ve kept the price the same for the last 5 years, $99 plus tax. Don’t know how much longer we can hold that price but if you are interested please give me an email at to arrange the flight.

Tom Tyburski says:

Hello, my daughter is very interested in becoming a pilot. Do oyu still offer the “Discovery Flight”? If so please tell me the costs and any requirements. We would hope to be able to do this sometime in July.

ChiefPilot says:

Please contact me at or call at 860.819.3717. I’d be glad to take your daughter on a Discovery Flight. It’s still $99 plus tax.

We offer a Discovery Flight. It is approximately 1.5 hours. Half of that in the air the other half on the ground learning about the aircraft and it’s control systems. If you want to learn how an airplane flies and how it feels to control it in flight this is your opportunity. The cost is $119.95 plus tax.
